Myriax was founded in 1990, and shortly afterwards was contracted by SonarData Pty Ltd to develop post processing software for the scientific fisheries acoustic research market. This was the beginning of SonarData's world renowned Echoview software. The success of Echoview created the need for development, sales and support to exist under the one roof, and led to the merging of Myriax and SonarData.
In June 2003 Myriax acquired the Australian subsidiary of AKVAsmart (Norway) and renamed it AQ1 Systems Pty Ltd. Established in 1992, AQ1 develops, manufactures and markets sensor based feeding control systems for finfish aquaculture. AQ1 has developed the proprietary IR sensing technology and feeding algorithms embedded in systems used in over 18 countries on 20 species of fish. AQ1 also has a distribution agreement with AKVAsmart (Norway) to sell their range of feeding and fish sizing systems in Japan, Australia and New Zealand.
In 2004 Myriax established a branch office in Shimonoseki, Japan, to provide marketing and technical support for AQ1 and SonarData products. At this time an agreement was made with Fukushin Denki in Japan to jointly develop and distribute aquaculture technology.
Myriax acquired the rights to orthophotoraphy software Landscape Mapper in 2005. This product was released in the market in 2006.
Eonfusion is the latest product in the Myriax software stable. It offers unprecedented levels of spatio-temporal data manipulation and visualisation across marine and terrestrial environments. Eonfusion was released to the public in September 2008.
